Privacy Policy

Mirror Health is a private visual check-in and AI wellness app for iPhone and iPad. This Privacy Policy explains how Mirror Health handles information on the public website and in the app.

Summary

  • We do not sell personal information or provide it to data brokers.
  • Save privately keeps the personal appearance image, optional note, and custom tracking filters in your local journal and does not send them to an AI provider.
  • Save & analyze sends a reduced photo and optional note to an AI provider. The returned structured observations are saved in your local journal.
  • We do not send personal appearance images, private notes, custom filter names, structured appearance observations, wellness chat text, crisis content, or medical concern details to advertising, analytics, or paywall tools.
  • The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure basic visits without cookies or advertising trackers.
  • Optional Plus AI analysis uses a reduced current image to suggest reviewed face, hair, physique, or silhouette filters and describes a limited set of visible appearance cues and offers one practical next step. It does not measure sleep, hydration, age, or health, and it does not diagnose.
  • The app includes controls to change preferences, manage reminders, restore purchases, and delete visual check-ins or saved tips. The ordinary chat transcript is session-only rather than saved as journal history.

Information We Collect

Category Examples Purpose Shared with
Website usage Page views, referrers, country, device type, browser, operating system, and technical request information such as IP address and timestamps. Operate, secure, and understand the public website. Hosting and web analytics providers.
App setup preferences Language, broad health focus, wellness goal, current season, support style, practice mode, tone preference, session length, onboarding progress, and reminder choices. Configure and personalize the app experience. Apple through private iCloud sync when available, and AI or infrastructure providers only when needed to deliver a feature you choose to use. The app does not send these preferences to an external analytics or paywall provider.
Visual check-ins, tracking filters, appearance observations, wellness chat, and AI content Journal images and thumbnails, optional notes, custom filter names, structured visible appearance observations, chat messages, saved tips, AI inputs, and AI-generated responses. Maintain the journal you choose to save, generate bounded appearance observations and practical wellness guidance, and support safety controls. A reduced current image, app language, and selected reviewed built-in filter identifiers go to an AI provider only when you choose Save & suggest filters. Custom filter text is excluded. The full journal image and returned structured observations remain in the local journal. None of this content goes to advertising, analytics, or paywall tools.
Crisis and high-risk safety content Self-harm language, harm-to-others language, abuse disclosures, medical emergency details, or urgent distress. Provide immediate safety-oriented responses and route away from ordinary wellness chat when needed. AI or safety service providers only as needed. Not used for advertising, analytics content, or paywall pressure.
Purchases and subscriptions Product identifiers, entitlement status, transaction status, subscription period, and restore-purchase information. Payment card details are handled by the App Store when you buy through Apple. Provide paid access, prevent fraud, restore purchases, and offer support. Apple and Mirror Health infrastructure used to validate entitlements.
Service security and entitlement identifiers A random installation identifier, App Store transaction identifiers, and IP-derived security or quota signals. Validate paid access, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and honor install-scoped deletion requests. Apple and infrastructure providers that operate the service.
Diagnostics and support Technical error and security data, plus support messages, screenshots, or files you choose to send when contacting support. Fix bugs, respond to requests, improve reliability, and secure the service. Apple platform services, infrastructure, hosting, and support providers as needed.
Account or contact information Email address, display name, sign-in identifiers, or other contact information if account features or support flows require them. Authenticate users, communicate about the service, and respond to support. Authentication, hosting, and support providers.

Sensitive Information

Personal appearance images, private notes, custom filter names, structured appearance observations, routine details, stress details, names of third parties, crisis language, and reminder patterns can be sensitive. Mirror Health is designed to collect less, store less, send less, and log less.

If we process sensitive personal information, we use it to provide the features you request, protect safety, secure the service, comply with law, or support user controls. We do not use sensitive information to infer unrelated characteristics about you, sell data, or pressure you to buy.

How We Use Information

  • Provide visual check-in, custom filter, wellness chat, reminder, and personalization features.
  • Generate bounded AI-assisted appearance observations, practical next steps, and chat responses.
  • Maintain subscriptions, entitlements, and purchase restoration.
  • Respond to support requests and legal requests.
  • Measure reliability and coarse product usage without images, notes, custom filter names, structured observations, or chat text.
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, security incidents, and misuse.
  • Comply with law and enforce the Terms.

AI-Assisted Features

Save privately does not send the personal appearance image, optional note, or custom filters to an AI provider. When you choose Save & suggest filters, Mirror Health creates a reduced JPEG copy of the current image and sends that copy, app language, and reviewed built-in filter identifiers to an AI provider. The full journal image is not uploaded for analysis. Other AI wellness tip or chat features may send the text and recent context needed to answer your request.

Plus analysis is designed to suggest only reviewed face, hair-coverage, physique-definition, or silhouette filters and return bounded visible cues. It is not designed to identify you or infer weight, body fat, muscle mass, sleep, hydration, age, pregnancy, traits, emotions, health, or disease. The returned observations are stored with the check-in in your local journal and are not sent to analytics or paywall providers.

Mirror Health configures AI providers so API inputs and outputs are not used to train general AI models unless you separately consent or we update this policy and applicable product notices. AI observations and responses may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are not a medical diagnosis, clinician review, therapy, legal advice, emergency help, or crisis response.

Analytics, Paywalls, and Advertising

The website currently uses Vercel Web Analytics for basic site measurement and does not use website forms or advertising trackers. The app does not currently include a third-party analytics SDK. It prepares coarse product events locally for internal app behavior, but the current version does not transmit those events to an analytics provider.

Subscription offers are presented by Mirror Health using Apple's native StoreKit framework. The current version does not include a third-party paywall SDK and does not send app setup, image, custom-filter, journal, or chat data to a paywall provider.

Mirror Health does not currently plan to use third-party advertising in the app. If cross-app tracking or targeted advertising is introduced, Mirror Health will update this policy, update App Store disclosures, and request any consent required by law or platform rules.

How We Share Information

  • Service providers that help operate the website, app, AI features, storage, purchases, support, security, and website analytics.
  • Apple and App Store services for subscriptions, in-app purchases, refunds, and purchase restoration.
  • Parties you choose to authorize if a future sharing, export, or community feature asks for your direction.
  • Legal, safety, or security recipients when needed to comply with law, enforce terms, respond to legal process, or protect people and the service.
  • Successors in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate notice where required.
  • Aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you.

Retention

Mirror Health keeps personal information only as long as needed for the purpose collected, unless a longer period is required for legal, tax, accounting, security, dispute, or fraud-prevention reasons. Personal appearance images, thumbnails, notes, and structured observations remain in your local journal until you delete the check-in or its history. Apple-managed device backups may retain local data according to your backup settings and Apple's backup lifecycle. Saved tips remain under user control through available deletion controls. The ordinary chat transcript is held in memory for the current app session rather than stored as journal history. Crisis content is intended to have minimal retention unless needed for safety, security, or legal reasons.

Security

Mirror Health uses technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, which may include Apple Data Protection, Keychain for secrets, TLS for network transport, protected local files, access controls, redaction, and vendor review. Personal appearance images and their structured observations are not synced through app-level CloudKit fields. Other allowed user data may use private CloudKit storage. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict certain personal information; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; withdraw consent; and appeal a denied request. You may also use an authorized agent where applicable law allows.

In the app, Mirror Health provides controls to delete check-ins and saved tips, change health focus, language, tone, and personalization preferences, disable reminders, and restore purchases. You may also send privacy requests to support@mirrorhealth.app. We may need information to verify your identity and process the request.

Children and Teens

Mirror Health is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and respond.

Mirror Health does not knowingly sell or share personal information of users under 16.

International Users

Mirror Health is based in the United States or will be operated from the United States unless the launch notices say otherwise. If you use Mirror Health from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may not provide the same data protection laws as your country.

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and similar jurisdictions, Mirror Health relies on legal bases such as contract necessity, consent, explicit consent for special-category data where required, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and vital interests. Sensitive health-related information is processed only as needed for requested features, with appropriate safeguards and user controls. For users in Brazil, Mirror Health will honor applicable LGPD rights.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Mirror Health develops. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made. If changes materially affect app users, Mirror Health will provide additional notice where required.
